Language is one of the best exclusiveness that makes human entirely unique from God’s wonderful creations.
People use words to express ideas and to convey emotions. Through words people understand and learn. Words are the ultimate manifestation of many perceptions.
Words are as important as food; didn't Jesus say, “People do not live by bread alone but by words’ because it is the food of life?
Ponder the different purposes of words:
1. WORDS THAT BUILD
One’s personality is built through words and actions which parents use in rearing a child since birth. Thus, careful use and practice of selective words with children are advised, especially in the formative years.
A child learns first the value of life from the family therefore parents are responsible for what a child would become someday.
Children usually emulate what they see and hear from their family. So parents should practice using the power of words to discipline and teach their children that will build them grow with love, compassion and humility.
There is nobody who possesses a greater inspiring or destructive power over a child than parents do. As teachers of our little angels let us be vigilant/ watchful of the words we state for words said can have an effect on many ways. They may have influenced over a person’s life as long as he/she lives
2. WORDS THAT ENCOURAGE
Fear turns even the strong people into weak creatures in times of life’s complexities. It is in encouraging when deep concern for others is shown, and by using words with sincerity it will surely help the weak to boost courage.
Feelings of distress and depression cause a lot of agony and pain. Words with patience and love will encourage the discouraged people to have hope and continue to live.
3. WORDS THAT HEAL
When one is hurt physically or emotionally, words are more than enough to console. A person who is deeply hurt resorts to making violent reactions which could lead him to more serious trouble. A hurting mind at times know not to control so it is very important for him to hear words that heal that will help him subside his outraged emotions.
When words are said with strength and authority, they are like knives and swords that give excruciating pain to the heart and may cause death.
Words can hurt and harm. When someone tells you “I don’t love you anymore, let us break up” you will feel down. On the other hand when one tells you “You are my everything” you will rejoice and feel like you are in heaven.
When words break one’s heart, body and spirit, the feeling of pain lingers and such an awful failure may somewhat make someone wish to die.
It is true indeed that words can destroy somebody’s vision, dreams and faith.
4. WORDS THAT COMMAND.
Bosses oftentimes command behavior. A subordinate’s responses (good or bad) is the consequence of how the boss rules. A good command directs good results, a poor command causes feeble and chaotic retorts. One models through a command. An excellent victory is often credited to the leader who gives the command.
5. WORDS THAT PUSH.
Kind words push fine, decent and upright reactions harsh words push rude, indecent and lewd responses.
Words possess control over people. Words good or bad are stuck in the wholeness of each person. They destroy or further develop relations with others and change ones personality. Words are one of the best gifts from our God Almighty, therefore, words used be used well in utterance and in writing.
6. WORDS THAT PULL.
Words can pull someone who is down to go up and can pull someone up to go down. The first one is the fruit of love and the latter is out of jealousy.
7. WORDS THAT MAKE.
Words make relationships work out and break out. Words make the world a place of peace and destruction. Words are powerful motivators. They bring joy and laughter and they help people forget worries. Using inspiring words and uplifting words is an art and it mirrors the personality of every individual.
They are the vocal means of communicating and understanding people’s thoughts, ideas and emotions. It is the most feasible way of relating and reaching out, touching people that may bring positive or negative vibes not only to the speakers but also to the listeners. The manner they are said will greatly have an upshot on people for spoken words are from the inner self – work of the mind and heart.
Words must always be spoken with limitations--think before speaking because the speaker is accountable for what he says, be careful with utterances in order not to hurt or break people’s hearts and minds. In using the power of speech, one must assume responsibility over its consequences. Well and good if joy and peace will be the outcome but, what if not?
Words once said will always be remembered.

When words break ones heart, body, and spirit, you feel pain and such an awful failure may somewhat stop you to live. Really, words can destroy somebody’s vision, wish and faith.
Learn to say some of these simple but kind and heart elating words “I love you”, “Hello! How are you?”, “Sorry”, “Thank you”, “You can do it, don't quit”, “You are great”, “What can I do/ offer for you?”, “I miss you”, “Good luck”, “I trust you”, and most “Trust God”.
Let us be guided by these quotes: The ability to choose what we say to others is one of the most precious gifts God has given us. Knowing what to say, when and how to say it takes wisdom (Proverbs 16:23-24). “Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.” and "Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world." – Buddha.
The speech marks strongly proved how significant and authoritative words are. Hence, let us think before we open our mouth and utter the magical words. For these words epitomize what we are.
They are our reflections. Therefore, we have to be choosy, practice enunciating words that would build up a better haven on earth and would bring us to life eternal.
