I. Rationale
The teaching strategy of Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao is designed to improve the delivery of instruction. Objectives are enriched to include the application of ICT in pupils’ output. The major change, however, is in the strategies by which instruction is conducted from the usual visual aids, charts, chalk, and talk. With the new strategy, the teacher concretizes her teaching through total physical response played by the students and recorded for video – clip presentations.
Video is an instructional and assessment tool that generates excitement. It is the perfect method of learning since it excites both auditory and visual learners. It also stimulates a student’s emotions and is an effective way for teachers to be used for interactive instruction.
Total Physical Response is linked to the “trace theory” of memory in psychology, which holds that the more often or the more intensively a memory connection is traced, the stronger the memory association will be and the more likely it will be recalled. Combined tracing activities, such as verbal rehearsal, accompanied by a motor activity, hence increase the probability of successful recall.
The use of video clip is an excellent method to add value to teaching and assignment. The above benefits that could be derived from using video led the proponent to pursue making an instructional and assessment tool in teaching Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao.
II. Objectives of the Project:
1. To be innovative in teaching Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao topics
2. To adapt to instructional tools suited to the learning styles of most 21st century learners.
III. Proponent:
1. The teacher of ESP from different grade levels.
IV. Scope and Delimitation
The proponent targets all grade levels of Franza Elementary School. Science City of Munoz, School Year 2012-2013. These Video-clips will be presented from September- December 2013.
V. Statement of the Problem
Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (ESP) is the least prioritized subject that is being taught. Teachers do not give it attention and sometimes take it for granted. There are times that they are unable to teach the subject due to time constraints. As Head Teacher, I am deeply concerned with this scenario because for me, this subject is very important most especially today’s generation because we have seen much news regarding bullying that caused death to some of the students both in elementary and high school. How can students be motivated to study this subject? How can we mold their good character? How can we help them transform into dignified and honest people?
VI. Overview of the Project:
In a sense, ESP teachers search ways to guide students in better understanding the lesson. It allows them to explore their minds with their own learning. Learners in Total Physical Response have the primary roles of listener and performer. In addition to this, it gives them the opportunity to teach actively by watching video clips. This will lead them to participate in collaborative learning after the video clip presentation. The students learn when they are well-motivated; hence the proponent thought of using video-clip presentations to encourage the learners to pay attention to what is being taught.
Furthermore, the project allows the students to gain more understanding of the discipline being introduced to them and how important is to have a good character and values in life.
Moreover, the interest of the learners at the present time is mostly fueled by computers. This led the proponent to let the students connect using the video-clip allowing them to be modernized and innovative when it comes to learning.

Narrative
The Utilization of Total Physical Response Method as an Alternative Instructional Device for Student’s Performance Assessment Task for Effective Learning in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao started on August 2013 and ended on December 2013. The Video-Clips of ESP lessons was used to utilized the total physical response method as an alternative instructional device for student’s performance assessment task for effective learning in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao. The members of the ESP Franzanians Club and Teachers were asked to join through a partnership in producing and filming or recording the student’s performance.
Every rehearsals and performance, all members of the cast were present in in supporting and producing video-clips presentations for the chosen ESP topics in each grade level. After 3 months, there was a educational instructional devices produced. It would help the ESP teachers to guide students in better understanding of the lesson. It will allows the learners to explore their minds with their own learning and it gives them the opportunity to participate actively as well for the teachers to teach their students actively also.
Aristotle once said, "For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them". Same with the Total Physical Response Method that combining tracing activities, such as verbal rehearsal, accompanied by a motor activity, hence increase the probability of successful recall. With the participation of the students it gives them a high performance assessment because of the very effective instructional devices.
Modules of Script with Corresponding Comprehension Check-Up were also accomplished together with the Video-Clips Presentations for the chosen ESP topics that will serve as an instructional devices for the teachers .
